Six weeks out, the show asked how you are supposed to pick a session at UNBOUND when you cannot ask anybody who works there. That was the first Wednesday you were gone, and the question was not a coincidence.
You were out the whole month. Four of us kept the Wednesday seat warm and added three Thursday Office Hours on top, which means the bus ran 7 times without its HubSpot insider. Here is the honest version of what that was like: the first week we talked about not having you, and by the last week we had stopped talking about the event altogether.
In between, the guests started letting themselves in. Shubham Nigam turned up half expecting an actual bus. Sheri Otto came back around to the company she used to work for. Christian Baun, Karin Tamir, Joshua Oakes, Matthew Ruxton — six people who were not on the roster in July are on it now, and two of them are speaking in Boston.

The first Wednesday without you, and the show walked straight into the hole you left. If you cannot ask someone who works there, what is your actual criterion for choosing a session? Casey refused to let "trust me" count as an answer.

HubSpot sent everyone its own map of UNBOUND — five dimensions, twenty-five rooms — and the show read the page instead of talking around it. It answered the previous week directly: sessions are a fifth of the event, so picking them was never the whole problem.

We drew up a van route with a stop for you
On Another Orange Morning, the Monday after travel got booked, the cold open turned into a half-serious pitch for driving to UNBOUND instead of flying — a rented fifteen-passenger van collecting the co-hosts on the way. Rob in Mississippi. George in the Carolinas. Casey in Maryland. You in Boston, last stop, which is also the destination, which is why the bit does not quite work and why nobody minded.
Everyone has booked their own travel, so it stays a bit. But you were on the route while you were gone, which is the part worth telling you.
